Joseph D. Rossi, 81, of Tunkhannock, died Wednesday evening at Tyler Memorial 
Hospital, in Tunkhannock. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Christine 
Bowman Rossi. 

He was born on June 25, 1925, in Newark, New Jersey, a son of the late Michael and 
Anna Conti Rossi. 

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II and Korea, 
where he received a battlefield commission, the Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, 
and the Purple Heart. 

After his service to our country he was a self-employed truck driver. 

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Tunkhannock, a member of the 
Endless Mountain Bowling League and the Chaplin of the 2nd Infantry Division. He 
also had great enjoyment for flying and spending time with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Chelsey. 

He is survived by his sons, Mickey Rossi, of Tunkhannock; and David Rossi and his 
wife, Kim, of Tunkhannock; daughters JoAnna DeRemer and husband Al, of 
Tunkhannock; and Tina Moreck and husband Bill, of Tunkhannock; brothers O'Neil 
Rossi, of Tunkhannock; and sister Louise Frate, of Durham, NC; grandchildren 
Stephanie, Stacey, Will, Christine and Kira; great-grandchildren Kael, Kylie and Blake; 
several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006, at the Tunkhannock 
Assembly of God Church at 10 a.m. with Pastor Rick Wormer. Interment will be in 
Sunnyside Cemetery. 

Friends may call at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 West Tioga St., 
Tunkhannock, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made 
to David and Kim Rossi for the care of Mickey at 23 Putnam St., Tunkhannock, PA
