Michael emigrated to the United States and resided with his uncle Joseph Zappone. 
He worked at the Phoenix Iron Company. He was an accomplished musician and 
joined the Phoenix Band, playing the clarinet. He participated in many patriotic and 
local parades.
Michael later moved to Newark, N.J. He taught clarinet to his two sons, and after 
Michael married he moved to Linden, N.J. Later they moved to Nicholson, Pa., where 
Anna died. When his health failed, Michael moved to Factoryville, Pa., to live with his 
son Neil.
