Janet Holmes Parry

"Together Again"

Our beloved, mother, grandmother and sister, Janet Holmes Parry, passed away 
peacefully surrounded by her family on June 10, 2007 after complications from a short 
illness. Janet was born June 24, 1931 in Minersville, Utah to Harry Franklin Holmes 
and Bertha Gray Holmes. She married Carl A. Parry, August 8, 1953 in Elko, Nevada. 
Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Carl passed away in 
1997.



Janet worked for the telephone company in Cedar City and Midvale where she first met 
Carl. He was the love of her life. As a family, they enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, 
ballgames, cookouts, and time spent together. Carl and Janet treasured the times they 
traveled the world with family and friends. She retired from Alpine School District as a 
lunch worker and cherished the many dear friends that touched her life. She also 
enjoyed her Bunco and neighborhood lunch friends.

Janet served as secretary in the Primary, Relief Society, and the Sunday School. She 
spent countless hours working in the church extraction program and was a member of 
the DUP. She was an immaculate housekeeper, excellent cook, and was best friends 
with her sisters.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and adored her 14 grandchildren and 14 
great-grandchildren. "Mom you are loved, we are excited for your reunion with dad!"



She is survived by her three sons: Wayne (Deanne) Parry, Provo; Doug (Linda) Parry, 
Pleasant Grove; Frank (Juli) Parry, Pleasant Grove; four siblings: Charlotte (Lynn) 
Reed, Bill (Lois) Holmes, Mildred (McKay) Davis, Wendell (Laurel) Holmes.

She was preceded in death by an infant son and two grandchildren: Parker and Ridge; 
two brothers, Robert and Frank Holmes.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Battlecreek 
Fourth Ward Chapel, 1106 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Friday 
evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove 
and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the 
Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
