ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Betty P. Rayner, 95, of St. Petersburg, formerly of Holden, 
Mass., a longtime office worker, died Oct. 22, in St. Petersburg. 

 She leaves a brother, E. Harvey Rayner of Worcester; three sisters, Virginia 
Colebrook and Eleanor Nylen, both of Boylston, Mass., and Persis Slayter of 
Worcester; nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces. She was born in 
Kissimmee, Fla., daughter of Elijah and Edith (Knox) Rayner, and lived in Worcester 
and Holden. She lived many years in St. Petersburg. She graduated from North High 
School and Becker Business College, now Becker College, both in Worcester. 

 Miss Rayner worked at Worcester County National Bank for many years. She was 
then an office worker in St. Petersburg before she retired. She was previously an 
office worker at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Rutland Heights (Mass.) and 
Holden District Hospital. During World War II, she worked for the Navy at its torpedo 
station in Newport, R.I. 

 Miss Rayner was a founding member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Holden. She 
was a docent at the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts. 

 A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, in St. Francis Episcopal 
Church, 70 Highland St., Holden. Burial will be private in Pine Grove Cemetery, 
Holden. There are no calling hours. Caswell-King Funeral Home, 1147 Main St., 
Holden, is directing arrangements.
