Zillah lived in Phila., Pa.
Jonathan was a broker.
   At one time, Jonathan was unable to pay his debts and made an assignment to his 
creditors.  He was disowned for this by Friends Meeting, but later readmitted.  
      After Zillah died, Jonathan married Catherine -----.
     In his will, Jonathan mentions land in Bexar and Harris Counties, Texas inherited 
from his son Evan, who predeceased him.  His will was executed October 7, 1846.

8 Dec 1840 Phila North American: "On the seventh day, the 5th inst, in the 86th year 
of her age Zillah Thomas, wife of Jonathan Thomas. Funeral from her late residence in 
Schuylkill 7th street, the second door south of Market st, this afternoon the 8th inst at 
3 o'clock.
8 Feb 1842 Phila North American has a noticce re trust estate of Zillah Thomas, and 
trustee is a Jacob M. Thomas.
29 Nov 1841 notice, sheriff's sale, re property on north side of Chestnut between 13th 
and Juniper. In 1827 it was conveyed to Jacob M. Thomas in fee, in trust for the use 
of Zillah Thomas during her life and then in trust for the children of the said Zillah 
Thomas and Jonathan Thomas, her surviving, and the issue of such children as might 
then be deceased, in fee, as tenants in common, and the said ZIllah Thomas 
afterwards died, leaving the said John M. Thomas [what "said JOHN M. Thomas??], 
Edward W. Thomas, Mary Louis, and Sarah M. Thomas, her children by the said 
Jonahtan Thomas ....
