Ebenezer was raised in Frankford, Phila. Co., Pa. In 1825, Ebenezer moved to
Highland Twp., Chester Co., Pa., where he purchased a farm. Ebenezer was a
slender, bearded farmer. He also was a cythesmith.
Ebenezer, a member of the Religious Society of Friends, was well known for his
comment made while standing in the meetinghouse yard, "I have had some of my best
meetings at the plough."
Through her mother, Sarah was related to the Boone and Lincoln families.
