28 Jul 1853 minutes of Goshen MM reports "Willistown preparative meeting informed 
that Catherine Evans has been present at the marriage of a member of our religious 
society which was accomplished contrary to our order." A committee met with her, she 
"manifested no disposition to condemn her transgression" so referred to men friends 
meeting to prepare testimony against her. This does not appear to be her marriage 
because the next item refers to a complaint of someone "accomplishing her marriage 
contrar to our discipline." There then followed a note of a complaint against Elizabeth 
Barr "for having accomplished her marriage contrary to our order" so I'm guessing the 
complaint against Catherine was for attending that wedding. Apparently Elizabeth 
"evinced a tender disposition of mind and was desirous of offering an 
acknowledgement of her transgression which the could not discourage." Matter not 
disposed of. Later item says she was willing to make satisfactory alteration in her 
acknowledgment, followed by item about complaint that Mary Evans attended marriage 
of a mamber "accomplished contrary to our discipline" and she attending "this 
meeting" with acknowledgment of her transgression.
