2 sisters. He is a book keeper.
In 1900 census he is in Election District 3, Baltimore, Md. middle initial is W, though
looks like the H ancestry.com records because of overwrite. Born Jan 1845 in Va. Has
parents b Va (though father is b Ireland) Occ: clerk
1910 census has a Joseph B Clark, widower, b Va 1845, living in Baltimore as a
boarder. But Joseph B Clark shows up in 1920 as b Va 1847, married, inmate of
Springfield State Hospital in Carroll, Md
But in 1920 census Joseph H Clark, b Va, parents b Va, age 75 (b 1845) shows up in
Panama, Laval Co., Fla. , wife Charlotte (b in Florida). Next door is Charles B Clark,
father b Va, mother b Fla., married to May, son Robert. He age 41, she 37, son 15.
Wife also b Fla, son ba Alabama. Definitedly Joseph H not W, and no e on names.
1890 Baltimore city directory shows Joseph W Clarke, 19 Sout, 1903 Park Ave,
treasurer Consolidated Gas Co.

CLARKE At Glyndon, Baltimore County, August 1, Katie R., wife of Joseph W. Clarke,
and daughter of William H. Buck.... funeral Wednesday afternoon, at five o'clock from
Emmanuel P. E. Church, corner of Cathedral and Read streets.

Mr. Joseph W. Clarke. The funeral of Mr. Joseph W. Clarke, treasurer of the
Consolidated Gas, Electric Light and Power Company, who died suddenly last Tuesday
morning, took place yesterday afternoon from his home, 2117 Callow avenue.
The honorary pallbearers were Messrs. Harry Orrick, Lawrence Miller, Burton Buck,
Kirkland Buck, Howard Millikin, H. Wind, Irvin Dunn and Dr. James E. Clarke. The
active pallbearers were employes of Funeral Director Henry W. Jenkins & Sons. Rev.
Dr. J. Houston Eccleston, pastor of Emmanuel Protestant Episcopal Church,
conducted the services, assisted by Rev. Thomas E. Patterson.
Interment was in Greenmount Cemetery. Representatives of the Consolidated Gase,
Electric Light and Power Company and Royal Arcanum attended the funeral in a body.
Mr. Clarke was born in Richmond, Va., in 1845, and was the son of the late Henry
Clarke and Mary Maule Clarke. He was one of the oldest employes of the gas
company, having been in the service of the firm in various capacities for the past
thirty years. He is survived by a widow, who was Miss Mary Millikin, and one daughter
(Mrs. J. Bispham Stokes, of Morristown, N.J.)
