1981 book:
Elizabeth Maule's mother, Sarah Comfort, was a cousin of Samuel's mother, Elizabeth 
Comfort. Elizabeth's mother's mother, Ann Eastburn, was a sister of Aaron Eastburn, 
the father of Samuel's father Joseph Eastburn. Thus, Elizabeth and Samuel were 
doubly second cousins.
	Samuel was educated at Langhorne Academy, Westtown Friends School, 
Westtown, Pa., and Crittenden's Commercial College, Phila., Pa. He was one of the 
most enterprising businessmen of lower Bucks Co., Pa. For a few years he did railroad 
surveying, and then spent 10 years in Phila., Pa., with a dry goods store. In 1880, he 
lived in Langhorne, Pa., and was a general agent for the Provident Life & Trust Co. In 
1886, he organized and developed the Langhorne Improvement Co., upon which the 
Borough of Langhorne was built. In 1887, he built the Langhorne Water Works and 
the Langhorne Brick Works. In 1888, he built the Langhorne Electric Light Co. He sold 
real estate. He was treasurer and superintendent of the Langhorne Motor Inn, a 
member of the Religious Society of Friends, a Republican, and a justice of the peace.
	Elizabeth and her family lived in Langhorne, Pa., until the 1890's, when they 
moved to Middletown, Bucks Co., Pa.
