Richard Rumel Newton, age 82, passed away on May 5, 1990 in Salt Lake City.

Born February 1, 1908 in Salt Lake City, to Charles W. and Amy Derrick Rumel 
Newton.

Married Wanda Williams on August 3, 1940 in Salt Lake City. Graduated from LDS 
High School. Veteran of World War II. He was in the insurance business and owned 
the Richard R. Newton Insurance Agency.

Survived by his wife, daughter, Ruth Newton Sweet and son-in-law, Michael John 
Sweet. Two grandchildren, Christopher Newton Hansen and Sean Michael Sweet, all 
of Salt Lake City. Also by a sister Evelyn Newton. Preceded in death by a brother and 
a sister, Elinor Newton Trzaska.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. in the Salt Lake City 
Cemetery. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, on 
Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
