SALEM - Lela Mae Doolen, 89, passed away at 7:27 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010, 
in Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County. 

 Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2010, in Neal Funeral Home in 
Kinmundy. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. 
today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. 

 Lela was born Aug. 21, 1920, in Patoka to A.D. and Edith (Irvin) Nichols. 

 She married Roy G. Doolen on May 28, 1942, in Manhattan, Kan.; he preceded her in 
death Nov. 2, 1998. 

 Survivors include a daughter, Shari Crockett of De Soto; two grandchildren, Cristy 
(Michael) Desmoreaux of De Soto and Brett (Mery) Crockett of San Francisco; five 
great-grandchildren, Michael (Amanda) Desmoreaux Jr., Kyla Desmoreaux, Shannon 
Simmons, Trevor Simmons and James Desmoreaux; two great-great-grandchildren, 
Emma Desmoreaux and Micah Desmoreaux; a sister, Lucille Hadley of Rancho 
Cucamonga, Calif.; and a niece, Shirley (Richard) Bradley of Upland, Calif. 

 Lela was a homemaker. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Kinmundy 
First United Methodist Church, Twilight Circle of Church and Shanghai Club. 

 Memorials may be made to Kinmundy First United Methodist Church or Alzheimer's 
Association.
