	Leslie attended Harrisville Friends Primary School, Harrisville, Ohio, Friends 
Boarding School, Barnesville, Ohio, and Wooster College, from which he graduated in 
1942.
	Leslie worked in Wheeling, W.Va., and Allentown, Pa., He enlisted in the 
United States Navy during World War II; he was an ensign stationed on the Bon 
Homme Richard, an aircraft carrier. After the war, Leslie worked in Baltimore, Md.
	Leslie and Betty Jo settled in Dallas, Tex., and have since lived in Atlanta, 
Ga., Chicago, Ill., Zug, Switzerlkand, Washington, D.C., Houston, Tex., Bouldor, Col., 
and Milwaukee, Wis. Leslie works in the sales and servicing of disease detection 
equipment.
In 1981, Leslie and his family lived at 10413 Lake Carroll Way, Tampa, Fla. 33618.  In 
1985, mail was returned from this address due to no forwarding order.

Leslie B. Thomas, 89, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010.
Born in Adena, OH, he was the son of the late Walter Thomas and Martha Binns 
Thomas. In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Leslie was a U.S. Navy 
veteran and served during WWII.
He graduated from Wooster College; was an avid golfer; enjoyed gardening and was 
very handy and could fix
virtually anything. Leslie will be remembered for his passion for life and ability to make 
people laugh. He was a
member of First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Thomas; three children, Mark Thomas 
and wife Nancy of Atlanta, GA,
Barbara Lawson and husband Mike of Omaha, NE and Holly Samson and husband 
Rick of Jupiter, FL; two
grandchildren, Carley Boyette and Christopher Lawson; and several nieces and 
nephews.
Memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 6, in the Chapel of First 
Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Samuel
Pope officiating. Reception followed at Tartan Hall. Interment will be in the Florida 
National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Caregiver Retreat, 108 Wayah St., 
Franklin, NC 28734.
