 Mills, Lawrence H.
Lawrence H Mills died July 17 in Dunedin, Fla. He was 87.
He was born in Westport March 27, 1917 to Mildred and Lewis Mills.

Lewis was caretaker of Sherwood Island State Park where "Larry" worked as a 
lifeguard in the 1930s.

He married Elizabeth Blake of Taunton, Mass.

In 1941, twins Gail and Grover was born. The next few years he worked as a letter 
carrier in Westport for the U.S. Postal Service.

He served in Tokyo, Japan, with the U.S. Army as a tech sergeant.

Returning from military service, he resumed his letter carrier route in downtown 
Westport.

In later years, Larry and Elizabeth owned and operated Taylor's Flowers and Gifts in 
Westport.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 1, 10 a.m., at Saugatuck 
Congregational Church, 245 Post Road E., Westport.
