Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Kane, Williamsport, will observe their 65th wedding anniversary 
Sept. 30, 2009.

They were married by the Rev. Frank P. McHugh at Church of the Annunciation. They 
are members of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church.

Mrs. Kane, the former Marion Louise Maule, is a native of Williamsport. She is the 
daughter of the late James W. and Sara Miller Maule. She graduated from Williamsport 
High School in 1941 and attended Wilson College, Chambersburg. She is retired.

Mr. Kane, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Michael A. and Theresa 
Dollinger Kane. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1941 and attended 
Dickinson Seminary, now Lycoming College. He is a retired interior designer and 
decorator. He was the organist at the Church of the Annunciation for more than 50 
years.

They are the parents of a son, Robert E. Jr., Williamsport, and five daughters, 
CoraLynn Jordan and Kathleen Rose Kane, both of Williamsport, Rebecca Anne 
Earnest, Palm Bay, Fla., Sara Louise Stempel, Towanda, and Mary James Cunnard, 
Orlando, Fla. There are eight grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren, nine great-
grandchildren, 22 stepgreat-grandchildren and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a family dinner was held.

Marion L.Kane age 92 of Williamsport PA passed away on Wednesday March 9, 2016 
at the Gatehouse in Divine Providence Hospital. Marion was born in Williamsport on 
June 15, 1923 the daughter of James W. Maule and Sara Belle Miller Maule.

Marion and her high school sweetheart Robert E. Kane were married September 30, 
1944 and celebrated over 68 years of marriage. Marion was a member of Saint Joseph 
the Worker Parish. She graduated from Williamsport High School class of 1941 and 
attended Wilson College. She and her husband operated Robert E Kane Interior 
Design and Decorating for over 50 years. She was a long time member of the 
Williamsport Bridge House and a member and officer of the DuBoistown Garden Club. 
She was a member of the Lycoming County Historical Society and was an officer of 
the ARC and was honored as the Volunteer of the Year in 1994. She served on the 
board of directors of Hope Enterprises for many years. Marion is survived by her six 
children CoraLynn (James) Jordan of Williamsport, Rebecca A. (Michael) Earnest of 
Palm Bay, Florida, Sara L. (George) Stempel of Towanda, PA, Jamie (Daniel) Cunnard, 
Orlando, Florida, Robert E. (Patricia) Kane, Jr., Williamsport, and Kathleen R. Kane of 
Williamsport.She is also survived by 8 grandchildren Alfred Jordan, Marion Sechler, 
Michael Bennett, Thomas Bennett, David Bennett, Sara Cunnard, Patricia Cunnard, 
and Kristen Kane and nine great-grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 24 step great-
grandchildren, 13 step great-great grandchildren, and 1 step great-great-great 
grandchild. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Elizabeth H. Maule and 6 nieces and 
nephews. Marion was predeceased by her husband Robert E. Kane Sr.,on August 3, 
2013, her parents, and her brother William L. Maule. The family will receive friends on 
Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., 
Williamsport, PA. Funeral services for Marion L. Kane will be held at St. Joseph the 
Worker Church, 702 W. Fourth St. Williamsport on Monday March 14, 2016 at 10:00 
a.m. with Rev. Brian Van Fossen officiating. Interment will follow at Wildwood 
Cemetery, Williamsport. Contributions in memory of Marion L. Kane if so desired may 
be made to Hope Enterprises, 2401 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA. The family will 
provide the flowers. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Crouse Funeral Home,
