John Main was born Sept 13, 1936 in Independence, IA, the son of Willis C. and 
Frances (Habben) Main. He served in the US Army from March 1957 thru Mar 1959. 
On Jan. 2, 1960 he married Margie Schanbeck. They were later divorced.
John died Nov 11, 2012 in Cedar Rapids, IA
 He is survived by four children: Curtis Main, of Independence, Tony (Christina) Main 
Quasqueton, Gail (David) Barker, Louisburg, KS and Aron (Vicki)Main of Galena, IL. 
eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, his mother Frances Main of Independence, 
a sister Lois Olson of Webster City, and three brothers; Wilbur Main, Don Main both of 
Independence and Alan Main, Epworth.
 He was preceded in death by his father, William C. Main
