Josephine Maule 
1923-2003 
Josephine Maule, a resident of the Camp Springs community, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 
in Snyder Oaks Care Center. 
Funeral service for Mrs. Maule, 80, is set for 2 p.m. Friday in the First United 
Methodist Church in Rotan with Dutch Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp 
Springs Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. 
Born March 29, 1923 in Anson, she was the daughter of the late John Harvey and 
Maggie Hawkins Holt. A graduate of Roby High School, she married George Maule on 
April 19, 1941 in Rotan. 
The family moved to Camp Springs in 1946. Mrs. Maule was a homemaker and a 
farmer’s wife. 
She also was preceded in death by a son, Steve Maule in 1965; two brothers; and one 
sister. 
Survivors include her husband, George Maule of Camp Springs; a son, Brad Maule of 
Los Angeles; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ronald Halder of Fort Worth 
and Charlotte and Scott Carey of Fort Stockton; six grandchildren, Sunne Schaake, 
Tracey Carey, Vince Halder, Stephanie Halder, Hunter Maule and Lily Maule; and five 
great-grandchildren.
