Doris Farrell, 92 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at the 
Dow Rummel Retirement Village.

Doris H. Feragen, daughter of Thor and Helen (White) Feragen, was born on August 
31, 1921, in Minot, ND. She moved to Sioux Falls at the age of 10 and attended 
school at Longfellow and Washington High School. Her last two years of high school 
were in Dell Rapids, SD, where the family had moved. She attended at South Dakota 
State University for two years and then worked in an office in Sioux Falls.

Doris was united in marriage with Robert W. Farrell on April 4, 1943, in Kingman, AZ, 
where Robert was stationed with the United States Air Force. The family lived in Sioux 
Falls after WWII until 1981, when they moved to Sun City, AZ. They moved back to 
Sioux Falls in 1995. Mr. Farrell preceded her in death in 1996.

Doris was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Wisdom 
Circle and Presbyterian Women. She worked at the "After School Program" and 
"Meals On Wheels". Grateful for having shared her life are her three children, Tom 
(Sheryl) Farrell, Sioux Falls, SD, Richard Farrell, Tyngsborough, MA, Becky (Dan) 
Steele, Jackson, CA; brother Robert Feragen, Chicago, IL; sisters Betty Guthmiller, 
Menno, SD, Mary Carter, Sioux Falls, SD; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and 
many other relatives and friends.Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her 
husband; daughter Nancy Petrich; brother Don Feragen; sisters Kay Millette and Eva 
Borrud.

The family requests that memorials be directed to First Presbyterian Church or to the 
Banquet. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 
the First Presbyterian Church with private burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Condolences
