bedding manufacturer (1880 Pa census)
per 1880 census, one servant
per 1870 census in 14th Ward, no wife, dtr Zillah, age 19, Lillie age 16, George age
14, Joseph age 12, two servants
1850 census listed with mother, siblings, wife and child Zillah. Is the Elizabeth, age 1,
who is listed also his and then died young? If so, then who is the child of James and
Charlotte who died by the time of the 1900 census??? Listed as upholsterer

1900 census, in Philadelphia Ward 28. Not on index because name is miswritten as
Sameul. Found via the Teasdales. Provides birthmonth. Occ. merchant

1910 census, in Paulsboro NJ with his son George, dtrs, etc. (name miswritten
because S looks like R) age 88

And who is the Caroline Morgan listed with him on 1880 censust, as schoolteacher
(1880 Pa census) 1880 census has her as a sister of Samuel but it must mean sister in
law, so no clue as to her maiden name. <--- written when I thought she was wife of
Joseph, but census records indicate that he married Hannah (Palmer). Hmmm. Says
she is widowed, so she IS a sister in law. Of whom? She is not on any other census.
(B 1828). could she be the sister of Samuel's wife? Hmmm But then why surnamed
Morgan? And I cannot find any place where I would have gotten her as wife of
Joseph, so did I plug her in from 1880 census? if so, stupid thing to have done.
Logically, she is not the widow of Edwin, nor of Samuel, nor of Joshua. Perhaps
James? Could Charlotte have died and then James remarried? Need to see if Charlotte
alive in 1880 and 1870. She is.
