	Willard attended the Chestnut Grove School, Gum Tree, Pa., and the 
Cochranville Consolidated School. He also attended George School, where he was on 
the baseball team.
	Willard was a prominent farmer in Gum Tree, Chester Co., Pa. He was active 
in community affairs, and a member of Doe Run Grange and Doe Run Farmers Club. 
Willard was interested in travel and photography, and visited all parts of the United 
States. He was a birthright member of the Religious Society of Friends. Willard did not 
marry.
