Joseph C. Freeze, 84, a resident of the Wenatchee Valley for the past 51 years, died 
Tuesday evening, Aug. 12, 1997, at Highline Convalescent Center in East 
Wenatchee. 

He was born Oct. 22, 1912, to Bruce B. and Theresa (Cahoon) Freeze in Murray, 
Utah, where he grew up and attended school, graduating from Granite High School in 
1920. In 1933 he moved to Seattle where he worked for Weslin Hotels, known then as 
Western Hotels, specifically the Mayflower Hotel. 

On June 12,1938, he married Marian J. Wilson in Seattle, and they made their home in 
Kirkland. In 1946 they moved to Wenatchee where he worked for MacDougall's 
Department Store as the manager of the major appliance and electronic departments. 
In 1968 he worked as a real estate agent until his retirement. 

Mr. Freeze was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wenatchee, a life 
member of the B.P.O.E. No. 1186, a member of the AARP, a former 33-year member of 
the Wenatchee Lions and a former member of the Real Estate Board. 

Survivors include his wife, Marian, of Wenatchee; one son, Bill B. Freeze and his wife, 
Sharon, of Wenatchee; one sister, Dorothy Haight of Newberg, Ore.; two 
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, 
Mary, and one brother, Howard. 

Jones and Jones Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
