Estella Anna Ault, born September 23, 1894, in Hemlock. Estella married Wilson S. 
McLeod (born May 6,1891) on December 6, 1915, at Hemlock. Minister J. Herbert 
Spencer presided and witnesses were Katherine Thompson and Minnie Ault. They had 
two children: Donald Wilson (born September 20, 1916) and Virginia. For some time 
the family lived in Royal Oak, Michigan, where Wilson was editor of the Royal Oak 
Tribune. Wilson became ill with heart disease. Estella and the children moved back to 
Hemlock. After the divorce from Wilson, who passed away on March 2, 1936, Estella 
and her kids moved in with Howard and Beulah Waddell (Hazel Ault's sister) in 
Saginaw City while she attended Saginaw Business Institute. After school Estella 
found employment as a secretary with the Institute of the Blind on Cooper Street in 
Saginaw City. She and her family were then able to move into a house on Delaware 
Street, just a few blocks from her brother Emil and his family on Woodbridge Street. 
Donald married Ann Piotrowski in 1938 and they had three sons: Mac (b. 1939), 
Robert (b.1941) and Bruce (b. 1943). Donald's second marriage was January 13,1968 
to Ila. They spent many happy years living in Curtis,Michigan. Estella later worked for 
the State of Michigan, Department of Revenue, in Lansing, until her retirement. She 
then lived for several years in Petoskey, Michigan. Later she moved in with her 
daughter, Virginia Duval, at Walloon Lake, Michigan. Estella A. Ault McLeod died 
November 9, 1988, from natural causes at the age of 94 at the home of her 
granddaughter, Joan Tebo, Virginia's daughter. Estella was buried in the Richland 
Township Cemetery. I would like to add that she was a favorite of mine. Always 
accepting me just as I was. She was a fierce card player, but when she played with 
me she would let me win sometimes. I always enjoyed her visits when she came to 
Grampa Emil's house.
