Arminda Rae (Minnie) Ault, born February 23, 1896, in Hemlock. Minnie married 
Clarence Carl Byron on January 1, 1916. The presiding minister was Francis C. Stifler 
and witnesses were Myrtle E. Thomas and James P. Thomas. Clarence was born 
January 20, 1894 in Saginaw. He was a machinist by trade and was a member of the 
First Methodist Church. Minnie and Clarence resided at 127 S. Mason in Saginaw, 
Michigan. They had eight children: Jean (Mrs. Gerald Kruger), Marge (Mrs. James 
Kruske), Robert (Jean), Jordan (Nancy), John (Marie ), Hazel , Ruth (Mrs. Charles 
Pink), and Thomas. Hazel, who was named after Hazel Alison Thomas Ault, died while 
in the tenth grade. Thomas died during the Second World War in 1942. He was listed 
as missing in action having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the torpedoed cruiser 
Juneau as a Boatswain's Mate (1/c). Thomas had been married to June Moore in 
1941. Minnie was a member and president of the Gold Star Mothers and president of 
the Military Order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary. Minnie passed away October 14, 1958, 
at Saginaw General Hospital of heart failure at the age of 62 years. Clarence passed 
away August 5, 1949, at Saginaw General Hospital after a lingering illness at age 56 
years. She was a special lady and enjoyed a special relationship with Hazel Ault.
