 Memorial service for Harry W. Broga, 90, Rio Vista Drive, Edgewater, who died 
Sunday, July 17, 2005, at Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna Beach, will be 2 p.m. 
Thursday, July 21, at Settle-Wilder Chapel, New Smyrna Beach, with Pastor Tim Foldy 
of Edgewater Alliance Church officiating. Born in North Blandford, Mass., Mr. Broga 
came to this area in 1952 from East Long Meadow, Mass. He was self-employed as a 
parts distributor, operated a service station with partner, Robert Poland, on the corner 
of U.S. 1 and Park Avenue, Edgewater, and worked in engineering for Pratt and 
Whitney. Civic-minded, Mr. Broga served as Edgewater mayor, city councilman and 
assistant fire chief and was a member of Florida Firefighters Association. Displaying 
his passion for the performing arts, Mr. Broga served as president of New Smyrna Little 
Theater, assisted in constructing its original building, and participated in its 
productions. Survivors include his wife, Bertha M. Broga; two brothers, Douglas Broga 
and wife, Irene, Dudley, Mass., and Robert Broga, Feeding Hills, Mass.; three sisters, 
Bernice Rice, Warren, Mass., Helen Gagliardi, Ludlow, Mass., and Mildred Henderson 
and husband, Lenville, Eubank, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; and caregivers, 
Robert and Susan Fiaschi, Edgewater. Mr. Broga was predeceased by sisters, Violet 
Barnes, Dora Hilton, Priscilla Heck and Virginia Jones. Memorial donations requested 
to The Little Theater of New Smyrna Beach, Inc., P.O. Box 114, New Smyrna Beach, 
FL 32170.
