Dudley - Douglas C. Broga, 90, of Dudley, died peacefully surrounded by his family at 
his home on Friday, March 22, 2013. 

Born in Palmer, MA, he was one of ten children born to the late Harry and Dora 
(Sherman) Broga. Mr. Broga's wife of 64 years, Irene E. (Frederick) Broga, died May 
28, 2008. Mr. Broga is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas G. and 
Suzanne Broga, of Dudley; his two daughters and sons-in-law, , Linda S. and William 
Lamica of Malone, NY, and Kathleen L. and Roger Meskus, of Charlton (of Kathy's 
Garden Treasures in Charlton); his sisters, Helen Gagliardi of Ludlow, MA, and Mildred 
"Dolly" Henderson, of Eubank, KY; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and 
many nephews and nieces. 

Mr. Broga is a veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II. He fought in the Battle 
of the Bulge. He retired from Southbridge Livery where he worked as a mechanic. He 
previously worked as a mechanic at the former Brookside Garage in Southbridge. He 
was a member of the Charlton Senior Center. Mr. Broga enjoyed gardening, fishing, 
and he also played the guitar, and was formerly in a band called The Islanders. 

Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 10:30 - 11:30 AM at Sansoucy 
Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA. A memorial service will be at 11:30 
AM at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at 2PM in The 
Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA. The 
family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the Concordia 
Lutheran Church, 86 Murray Street, Worcester, MA 01610 to help with their breakfast 
of the poor and needy.
