MEDINA -- Cedric T. "Ced" Anstey, 83, of Medina went to be with the Lord on 
Wednesday (Dec. 3, 2014) at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home. 

 Born on Dec. 16, 1930, in East Shelby, he was the son of the late Thomas and 
Kathryn (Vincent) Anstey. 

 Cedric grew up in East Shelby and graduated from Medina High School in 1947. He 
enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s, having served two stints; that's where he 
met his wife, the late and former Joan Rinehart and they married on his 30th birthday. 

 He was employed with S.A. Cook, Lake Shore Lumber and Maine Home Center, after 
his retirement he worked delivering oxygen for Associated Healthcare. He was a avid 
gardener and enjoyed walking, cooking and carpentry and he was a member of the 
East Shelby Community Bible Church. 

 He is survived by three children, Kenton (Brenda) Anstey of Livonia, Michael (Lisa) 
Anstey of Middleport and Kelly Anstey of Medina; five grandchildren, Adam, Ashley, 
Paige, Evan, Emma; a sister, Naomi Watts of Shelby Center; and many nieces and 
nephews. 

 He is predeceased by eight siblings, Vincent, Donald, Charles, Normand, Vivian, 
Harold, Roderick and Edith. 

 Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at the 
Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina. A funeral service will be held at 
10 a.m. Tuesday at the East Shelby Community Bible Church, 5278 East Shelby Rd., 
Medina, NY 14103. 

 Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Military Honors from Butts-Clark 
American Legion Post 204 and V.F. W. Lincoln Post 1483. 

 Memorials may be made in Cedric's name to East Shelby Community Bible Church.
